With changing environmental and climatic conditions, turf management has become more demanding. We offer grasses that can better handle spring and early summer drought.
Agrostis stolonifera, commonly known as creeping bentgrass, is a perennial grass species native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It is recognized for its ability to spread via underground and above-ground stolons, making it a popular choice for lawns, golf courses, and other turf applications. Creeping bentgrass thrives in well-drained, moist soils and prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade. It grows optimally in cool, humid climates and is quite adaptable to a range of soil types, although it favors slightly acidic to neutral pH levels (5.5 to 7.0). The grass features fine-textured, bright green leaves that are 2–5 mm wide, growing to heights of 15–30 cm. It produces flowering spikes in late spring to early summer, with seed heads that are slender and often have a distinct purplish hue. Agrostis stolonifera is highly prized for its dense growth and smooth surface, which makes it ideal for high-quality turf applications. However, it requires regular maintenance, including watering, mowing, and fertilization, to achieve its best appearance. Its ability to tolerate close mowing and recover from stress makes it a favorite among turf managers.
The Masterline® mixtures are designed for golf courses, stadiums, parks, etc. The mixtures consist of very fine-leafed and dense-growing, quality varieties. For enhanced performance two varieties of each species are always used in the mixtures.
