Growing turf that lasts season after season
Turf has to work harder these days. As the weather becomes increasingly unpredictable, players still expect year-round pitch use. The solution is 4turf®, a range of highly resilient, low-temperature turf varieties that make the turf manager’s job easier. And the time to overseed is now.
Red fescue could be the future of turfgrass management
Growing and managing turfgrass is getting tougher. The pressure is on to use fewer resources – less pesticide, fertiliser, water, and management time – to grow turf sustainably. Red fescue is the answer. It doesn’t just perform well on all environmental measures, it is also fine textured and has a nice colour.
Press release: Record revenue and solid operating results at DLF
With a revenue of DKK 8,756 million and an EBIT of DKK 522 million in the fiscal year 2022/23, DLF presents a record revenue and the third-best EBIT in the company's history at today's Annual General Meeting. The sales of clover and grass seeds were overall lower than in 2021/22, and the operating results were affected by inflation and rising costs associated with the significant 2022 harvest
A troubling year of drought, floods, and soaring inflation
Grass-seed consumption during the past year has been slower than during the two previous years when COVID-19 forced people to stay at home and devote more time to their gardens. Now that we’re back to normality, seed consumption has returned to typical levels.
Inevitably, there are other issues to worry about. Inflation, which has fallen from its highest levels, continues to be a concern, driven primarily by rising gas, electricity, and overall consumer prices. Inflation is still far higher than people are used to, which is why it continues to dampen consumer spending and reduce trade activity.
As always, the weather plays its part in the seed industry. Last year we enjoyed an exceptional harvest with abundant yields and excellent dry storage conditions. Not so for the 2023 seed production year, which offers a stark contrast to the success of the previous year.
