SILVESTER
Trifolium repens
- High yield of forage
- Very winter hardy
- Suited for cutting and combined management
- Excellent forage quality
Large production under cutting
Silvester is a large leaved variety of white clover, selected for its erect growth and ability to fit well together with tall growing grasses in mixtures. Silvester is able to produce a large amount of forage under cutting, but can of course also be used in mixtures for grazing.
Good forage quality
Silvester has a good and early spring growth, a high tolerance to Sclerotinia and a low content of cyanide (HCN), enhancing forage quality.
Very winterhardy
Silvester has shown a remarkable winter hardiness - the best variety in trials 2010-11 under severe frost and snow.
Especially suited to cutting
Silvester has high persistency and is recommended for medium-long term mixtures used for cutting or combined management.

White clover thrives very well in soils with good water capacity. The yield on sandy soils is very high provided there is sufficient moisture from rainfall or irrigation.
