SEZINA
Lolium multiflorum
- High dry matter yield in spring as in summer/autumn
- Excellent tolerance to rusts
- Very good leaf spot (Drechslera sp.) tolerance
- Mainly leafy regrowth for better quality and palatability
Yield distribution
Italian ryegrass is appreciated for the early high yield in the spring, allowing to secure a big part of the annual prodution in case of drought. SEZINA expresses this advantage very well but also ranks high for the summer/autumn yield. The regrowth after each cut is rather leafy, for better palatability and quality, without compromising the ease of conservation as silage or hay.
Healthy plants for vitality and quality
SEZINA expresses high tolerance to the two most frequently damaging diseases: Attacks of rust can be very harmful to yield, palatability and persistency. It is mainly in the summer & autumn periods. Attacks of leaf spot (Drechslera sp.) is present right from the spring where the main part of the annual yield is building up, so the impact can be much higher than what it seems visually.
Variety type
SEZINA is tetraploid (4n), synonym of high yield, palatability and good disease tolerance. As a true Italian ryegrass, it will last 18-24 months depending mainly on the severeness of summer drought.
