ERMO ØTOFTE
Trifolium hybridum

- ERMO is well suited for short rotation mixtures
- ERMO thrives well under humid conditions
- ERMO can be grown under varied soil fertility
Characteristics
Alsike clover can grow under less favourable conditions than required for red clover. In particular under wet conditions ERMO has its strong points, whereas the drought resistance is lower than that of red clover due to the superficial root system. It is usually used on meadows for making hay or silage.
Less aggressive
ERMO fits well into mixtures with grasses, where alsike clover is less aggressive than red clover and therefore should be mixed with not to aggressive grasses like timothy and meadow fescue.
1st cut important
The main yield of Alsike clover is harvested in the first cut. Alsike clover is also a good crop for green manure, under sown in cereals, green fallow or for game pastures.
